No data are available from two EU countries with highest AIDS incidence among IDUs (Spain, Italy).

For CZ, LU, MT, SI, SK, BG, RO less than 50 diagnosed cases in total are reported, and the trend should be interpreted with caution. See Table INF-4 for the base data on which the trends are based.

Austria: Data not available by transmission group. 

France: New HIV reporting system started gradually in 2003; 2003 data are from March to December – extrapolation to the full year results in an estimated 2.3 cases per million; 2004 data are for the full year.

Malta: New HIV reporting system started in 2004. 

Netherlands: New HIV reporting system started in 2002; 2002 data include many cases diagnosed in previous years. Data prior to 2002 are from a national cohort of HIV positive adults receiving antiretroviral therapy. 

Spain: HIV reporting exists in some regions only; data not available.
